HPC Activity: Simple Machines
Class: V
Topic: Simple Machines
Objectives
To understand what simple machines are and how they make our work easier.
To identify different types of simple machines in daily life (lever, pulley, wheel and axle, inclined plane, wedge, screw).
To enhance creativity and hands-on learning through model making and demonstrations.
To encourage teamwork, observation, and critical thinking among students.
The activity encouraged experiential learning as students discovered mechanical concepts through observation and experimentation. Most students were able to identify real-life examples of levers, pulleys, and inclined planes. Some groups displayed a strong ability to relate theory to practice by designing effective working models. A few students need further support in explaining the scientific principle behind their models, which will be reinforced in upcoming lessons
